SIMÓN GARCÍA

Musician, violinist and music pedagogue, Simón is born in Madrid where he finished his musical studies in the Madrid Royal Conservatory mentored by Mr. Juan Llinares.

Currently, he works as a freelance artist acting around the world as a violin soloist and giving concerts in several prestigious temples of music such as Philarmonie (St. Petersburg), Oriental Art Center (Shangai), Ulan Muquir Palace Grand Theatre (Mongolia) o Xiangjiang Symphony Hall (Changsha). In addition, he has become the leading violinist of the show “My first four seasons” created by Marisol Rozo and Ara Malikian.
His orchestral career has led him to take part in several ensembles such as London&Vienna Kammerorchester, Orquesta de la Comunidad Valenciana “Les Arts”, Madrid Symphonic Orchestra , Santa Cecilia Classic Orchestra, Reino de Aragón Orchestra, European Royal Ensemble, Spanish Classic Orchestra among many others ensembles.

As the national level he has performed concerts in the most relevant concert halls such as Teatro Real (Madrid), National Auditorium (Madrid), Palau de la Música (Barcelona), Palau de Les Arts (Valencia), Gran Falla Theatre (Cádiz), Arriaga Theatre (Bilbao) and also in Cadogan Hall (London), Antalya Culture Center (Antalya), Cultural Hall (Manama), Teatro Valli (Reggio Emillia), Teatro Comunale (Treviso) at the international level. He has shared the stage with international soloist such as Vadim Repin, Julian Rachlin, Krystian Zimerman, Ara Malikian, JeanB. Pommier, Manolo Carrasco, Sergei Babayan, Matti Salminen, Gerad Caussé…

He has participated in several Ara Malikian’s shows such us “15”, “My first four seasons”, “La Banda” and “La orquesta en el tejado” whereof he is a founding member. On the other hand, Simon has performed “Sound from Spain”, ”Carmen” and “Vida” playing together with Manolo Carrasco.

Moreover, Simón has played the role of concertmaster and soloist in most of the ensembles he has worked emphasizing for instance Brandemburg Concert no.4 (J.S.Bach) in the National Auditorium (Madrid), The four Seasons (A. Vivaldi) in the Scuola Statale Italiana (Madrid), Hispania (M. Carrasco) in Gran Falla Theatre (Cadiz)…

It is also worth highlighting his participation in several sound recordings for CDs, film soundtracks, master classes such as “15” (Picos & Ham Records/Big Star Music Album) which was nominated to Latin Grammy Awards, “Symphonic at Las Ventas” (Ara Malikian), “Spanish Violin”, “Hispania” and “Vida” (Manolo Carrasco), “DakApp” Master classes with A.Igudesman and K.Joo, J.B. Pommier and “Pharos International Chamber Music Festival” with S.Babayan and P.Vernikov.

Based on his pedagogical skills, he has conceived the following shows: “Música, Cámara y Acción”, “Live looping experience”. “El cuarto del cuarteto”, “Boccherino en las calles de Madrid” all of them developed by its own producing Company “Chop Sway Productions”. He combines his classical artistic side with folkloric and popular music, jazz, flamenco, konnacol (India), kpanlongo (Ghana), Brazilian folk… The curiosity for learning new music styles guided him to learn from Casey Driessen, Barnabas Hangonyi, Oriol saña, Begoña Riobó, Gabriel Viera, BeatMac, Pascal Yao Younge,… As a result, he has collaborated with the following artists: The Cinematic Orchestra, Toundra, Thundercat, Rafael, Miguel Atwood-Ferguson, Kepa Junkera, Los Secretos, Juan Parrilla, Iñaki Anton “Uoho”… and some recordings with David de María, Niña Pastori, Nelou, Alex Ubago, Melendi among others using his electric violins Gewa Novita 3.0 and NS Wav5.
